We have had the pleasure of working with Airbnb on their public policy team since 2015. In 2023 they contacted us about capturing stories of how Airbnb hosts in Nashville use their rental income. They wanted to showcase the benefit the rental income has to not only the homeowners, but also the city through economic growth, supporting businesses, and more. As the city has continued to grow and the standard of living has risen to astronomical levels, homeowners have found that being an Airbnb host has allowed them to stay in their homes through the additional income.
“My house was built in 1954, it’s something that I want to keep for the rest of my life,” Sarah told us. The life of a musician requires frequent travel, and for Sarah “the ability to make income on top of my intermittent income while I was on the road literally helped me keep my house.”

THE PROCESS
Sarah, who lives in East Nashville, is a musician and runs a guitar shop. We love how her story shows that she’s able to use her Airbnb income to keep her family home in Nashville. Just like most of our work with Airbnb, we sat down and talked, just having a light and fun conversation with cameras rolling, and we were able to capture Sarah’s story in a unique and compelling way.
From there, we edited her footage down to 60 seconds – just the right amount of time to tell her story while keeping viewers engaged.
